The Libyan militia group that the State Department hired to defend its embattled diplomatic mission in Benghazi had clear al-Qaida sympathies, and had prominently displayed the al-Qaida flag on a Facebook page for months before the deadly attack.

That organization, the February 17th Martyrs Brigade, was paid by the U.S. government to provide security at the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya. But there is no indication the Martyrs Brigade fulfilled its commitment to defend the mission on Sept. 11, when it came under attack. Several entries on the militia’s Facebook page openly profess sympathy for Ansar al-Sharia, the hardline Islamist extremist group widely blamed for the deadly attack on the mission. The U.S. State Department did not respond to a Newsmax request for an explanation as to why the February 17th Martyrs Brigade was hired to protect the mission.

On April 23, House Republicans released an interim progress report on its investigation into the Benghazi killings. It cited “numerous reports” that “the Brigade had extremist connections, and it had been implicated in the kidnapping of American citizens as well as in the threats against U.S. military assets.”

The report also stated that just a few days before Ambassador Stevens arrived in Benghazi, the Martyrs Brigade informed State Department officials they would no longer provide security as members of the mission, including Stevens, traveled through the city. From June 2011 to July 2012, Eric Nordstrom, the Regional Security Officer for Libya at the time, documented over 200 security threats and violent incidents threatening to U.S. personnel in Libya. Some 50 of those incidents occurred in Benghazi. Yet despite those threats, repeated requests for additional security from the mission went unheeded by the State Department, for reasons that remain unclear.

Americans can stand pretty much anything, but not being lied to by their president. When Bill Clinton lied about his relationship with Monica Lewinsky, his personal favorability ratings dropped 20 points and never recovered for the duration of his presidency.

As the Benghazi hearings unfold, it will become more and more clear that President Obama and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton knowingly lied to the American people when they both pretended that the attacks on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya, were just a demonstration against the anti-Muslim video gone violent — even as the State Department wrote an intelligence assessment that said “we do know that Islamic extremists with ties to al Qaeda” were involved in the attack.

Is it possible that the president and the secretary of State were denied access to this information? Is it possible that a low-level employee at State decided to alter the intelligence report and did not consult with his higher-ups about doing so? Is it possible that Clinton and Obama did not know the truth? No, it is not possible. They had to have known. And that makes their remarks for two weeks after the attack out-and-out lies.

Beyond the cover-up lies the question of why we were not more robust in our military intervention on the ground as the attack was being waged. Special forces nearby in the country were apparently ordered to “stand down” from responding to the attack. Is it possible that this order was given without consulting with the president or with the secretary of State? While possible, it is most unlikely. This was no minor attack, and the use of American forces eight weeks before an election would certainly need to be cleared with the commander in chief.

De polemiek rond Beghazigate woekert reeds weken met als climax de horingen van vorige week, gerealiseerd door de relevante onderzoekscommissie, waar drie klokkenluiders getuigden.

Echter kon men over deze zaak maar weinig vernemen in onze reguliere media...

Maar nu is het zover, het Witte Huis maakt een hondertal emails beschikbaar welke de controverse zouden moeten dempen en plotseling springt onze MSM erop.

De Amerikaanse regering heeft woensdag (lokale tijd) na een storm van kritiek 100 pagina's tellende e-mails vrijgegeven over het eigen handelen tijdens een aanval op het consulaat in de Libische stad Benghazi.

De Amerikaanse president Barack Obama kreeg forse kritiek van de Republieken omdat zijn regering bewust informatie achter zou hebben gehouden over de dodelijke aanval. De Amerikaanse regering zou meteen hebben geweten dat het ging om een terreuraanval, maar dat voor zich hebben gehouden. Er zouden e-mails zijn bewerkt waarin stond dat de CIA waarschuwde voor dreiging van al-Qaeda.

Veel informatie die in de e-mails staat is eerder al uitgelekt. Volgens de autoriteiten zijn de e-mails vrijgegeven om opheldering te geven.

Kort en bondig, dat wel...

Let op 'gerelateerd nieuws' op die pagina... geen informatie over Benghazigate noch de horingen.

Je onzin kent feitelijk geen grenzen en lezen blijkt ook niet een van je sterkste punten te zijn. Vervolgens heb je kennelijke een slcht geheugen wanneer het gaat om internationale berichtgeving.

Het is je geheel ontgaan dat op het moment van de aanslag op Stevens niemand wist wat zijn positie was ten tijde van.
Later heeft het Witte Huis daar afgezant van gemaakt en nu plotseloos is hij "ambassadeur".
Dat je dit allemaal ontgaan is blijkt ten ene male overduidelijk. Inhoudelijk lezen zou je aanzienlijk kunnen helpen je hulpeloze one-liners van iets meer kwaliteit te voorzien.

The then CIA-Director David Petraeus strongly objected to the Obama administration’s version of events of the terror attack on the U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya, newly released emails reveal.

Petraeus, who was forced to resign in disgrace in November after an extra-marital affair became public, wanted to see more detail made available, including a warning issued from the CIA about plans for an embassy attack.

The documents give a glimpse into the administration’s message control as officials carefully debated via email which details U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice should highlight when she went on talk shows five days later to discuss the September 11 assault on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya.

Gewoon negeren en net doen alsof er niets aan de hand is, en, de meeste politici in Washington willen hun baantjes niet verliezen bij een plotseling impeachment van O-Luo.
Kijk naar O-Luo: de man is niet eens een geboren yank, maar een halve Keniaan met ws een vervalst paspoort. Inmiddels zijn natuurlijk alle achtergrondgevens aangepast, zoals in een getuigenbeschermingsprogramma, dus te vrezen valt er niets voor O-Luo.

Sarah Hall Ingram served as commissioner of the office responsible for tax-exempt organizations between 2009 and 2012. But Ingram has since left that part of the IRS and is now the director of the IRS’ Affordable Care Act office, the IRS confirmed to ABC News today.

Her successor, Joseph Grant, is taking the fall for misdeeds at the scandal-plagued unit between 2010 and 2012. During at least part of that time, Grant served as deputy commissioner of the tax-exempt unit.

Grant announced today that he would retire June 3, despite being appointed as commissioner of the tax-exempt office May 8, a week ago.

“Obamacare empowers the agency that just violated the public’s trust by secretly targeting conservative groups,” Rep. Marlin Stutzman, R-Ind., added. “Even by Washington’s standards, that’s unacceptable.”

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell also reacted to the revelation late Thursday, stating the news was “stunning, just stunning.”
