Heb nu al 4 dagen dezelfde Tesla zien stilstaan aan het hotel ....reden de mens durft niet in de bergen rijden een tesla 3 want "pil gaat snel af tijdens klimmen ....is in Italië .

Ik geraak tenminste bergop en bergaf mijn gemiddelde op die plaats is 5,9 l/100km voor een simpele 520d GT zalig rijden in de bergen ....de automaat is super.

EV laat ze maar eens in de bergen rijden eens zien wie het verste geraakt.

"Bergen" zijn ideaal voor een EV. Bergop profiteren ze van instant hoog koppel, bergaf van regeneratief uitbollen en dus bijladen van de batterij.

Uw vuile BMW zuipt nogal: dat is 60 kWh/100 km uitgerekend.

Tesla China maakt zich klaar voor een recordverkoop, zeker nu de Tesla Y er ook aan komt.

Die wagens moeten natuurlijk ook snel opgeladen kunnen worden.

Tesla investeert daarvoor $6,4 miljoen in een nieuwe fabriek die 10.000 Superchargers -made in China- (laadzuilen en nodige opslag) per jaar gaat maken en gaat plaatsen vooral langs de snelwegen. Want daar staan er nog zeer weinig. De meeste staan in stedelijke omgeving. Soms wel 50 Suc-laadpunten op 1 laadparking.

Die fabriek zou vanaf februari 2021 operationeel zijn.

Tesla is subtly laying the foundations for an upcoming Model Y invasion in China

Inasmuch as the Model Y seems to be on track to become Tesla’s best-selling vehicle to date, the attention given to the vehicle, seemingly even by the company itself, has been quite tempered at best. Its unveiling was subtle and not at all like the Cybertruck’s flashy, fiery, dramatic cyberpunk-themed debut, and its first rollout was done quietly, with no grand handover ceremony like the Model S and Model 3.

Tesla’s handling of the Model Y ramp almost gives the impression that the vehicle was something that, while potentially disruptive in its own right, simply completes the company’s initial EV lineup. Yet if the electric car maker’s recent strategies are any indication, it appears that Tesla is preparing the stage for what could very well be nothing short of a Model Y invasion in China next year.

Just recently, for example, reports emerged stating that Tesla is investing RMB 42 million (about $6.4 million) into a new facility that will be tasked with the production of Superchargers, the company’s rapid-charging system. The facility will reportedly be located near Gigafactory Shanghai, and it will be completed sometime next year. Once it’s operating, the factory is expected to produce about 10,000 Superchargers per year, as per documents submitted about the site.

That’s an impressive number of Superchargers, and a good number of them would likely be built specifically for China’s domestic auto market. With a robust Supercharger Network in China, the stigma of EVs being limited in range disappears, and the all-electric crossover could actually become the first choice among car buyers who are fond of long road trips. China, after all, is rolling out a program that heavily incentivizes new energy vehicles, and there are few better ways to promote such an initiative than by supporting long-range EVs like the Model Y.

Tesla’s Gigafactory Shanghai facility is ready for the Made-in-China’s Model Y ramp. The second phase of the factory, where the all-electric crossover would be built, was completed earlier this year, and expectations are high that mass production of the Model Y could begin early next year. Supported by a rapidly-growing Supercharger Network, the Model Y could end up becoming one of China’s perfect family vehicles. And considering that Giga Shanghai’s Phase 2 facility is expected to produce 250,000 Model Y next year, 2021 may very well become the Year of Tesla in China.

Tesla’s Supercharger ramp in China is quite notable, especially considering that the company currently lists just over 20,000 Superchargers worldwide today, despite the company building its Supercharger Network since the days of the early Model S. This means that Tesla China’s Supercharger facility, which is expected to have an output of 10,000 charging stalls per year, has the potential to essentially double the number of Superchargers deployed today in but a couple of years.

An update to the China-made Model Y’s manual suggests that Tesla’s Bioweapon Defense Mode may be coming to the increasingly popular electric crossover. Tesla owner @greentheonly found clues in the Model Y’s local manual in China that may confirm the installation of HEPA filters in locally sold Model Y vehicles.

Elon Musk has noted in the past that a hospital-grade HEPA filter like those found in the Model S and Model X would not fit in the Model 3. Musk did state on Twitter last year that the Model Y has similar issues as its sedan sibling. However, references to the feature, at least for the Model Y, have appeared more than once in Tesla’s software.

Considering Tesla’s improvements and optimizations over the past year, as well as the Model Y’s rather hefty size, perhaps a HEPA filter and Bioweapon Defense Mode could be feasible for the vehicle. Although, neither Tesla nor Elon Musk have officially announced, commented, or confirmed a HEPA filter or Bioweapon Defense Mode for the Model Y.

Tesla May Intend to Start Delivering Cars to Customers in India by Mid-2021

Tesla is set to open an order configurator in India in early 2021, with the intention that early customers can receive vehicles by mid-year, industry sources say.

In mid-October 2020, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the company will open an order configurator for Tesla vehicles probably in January 2021. Now, several publications, citing sources related to the matter, have confirmed plans to resume booking in January. It was also reported that Tesla intends to begin the first deliveries by the end of Q1 2021, most likely indicating the time of dispatch of the vehicle batch from the factory. Considering the travel time, the cars should be delivered to India by mid-2021.

All cars will be CBU (Completely Built-Up) and will be imported via sea route into India. The companies which do not have either an Assembly plant or a platform for assembly, provide cars to the customers only by CBU. It is reported that Tesla will initially be able to deliver only 2,500 units. At the moment, we are talking only about the Tesla Model 3, the company's most affordable car. The expected price is about INR 55-60 lakh, which is about $75,000 - $81,500.

Tesla China announced the domestically-made Model Y’s latest prices, as volume production of the EV crossover starts in Gigafactory Shanghai. The Model Y Dual Motor AWD now starts at ¥339,900 (about $52,000) and the Model Y Performance now starts at ¥369,900 (about $56,600), a significant reduction from the vehicle’s initially-announced price.

Prior to the recent update, Tesla China listed the Gigafactory Shanghai-produced Model Y’s price at ¥488,000 (about $74,600) for the Dual Motor AWD variant and ¥535,000 (about $81,800) for the Performance version. In comparison, the Model Y Dual Motor AWD starts at $49,990 and the Model Y Performance starts at $59,990 in the United States.

Recently, Tesla China’s Vice President of External Affairs stated that Giga Shanghai has reached its localization supply chain goal. During the Q2 2020 earnings call, Elon Musk estimated that Giga Shanghai’s supply chain would reach around 80% localization by the end of 2020. The recent prices released for the Tesla China’s Model Y may reflect the localization of Gigafactory Shanghai’s supply chain.

Also interesting in Tesla China’s update is Giga Shanghai’s Model Y default paint option. Unlike its US-made counterpart, black is the China-made Model Y’s default paint color. This was Tesla’s default color with the Model 3 before the company shifted to the now-standard Pearl White Multi-Coat that is available on Fremont-made vehicles today.

With its updated pricing, the Made-in-China Model Y will be priced far more competitively against local competition like the NIO ES6 and EC6. Other carmakers that are looking to tap into the same premium segment as Tesla are likely see some pressure from the American electric car maker as well.

While the recent price updates on the Model Y may seem drastic, EV advocates have noted that the all-electric crossover’s initially-announced pricing were already speculated to be inflated, likely as a means to avoid the vehicle eating into the sales of the Made-in-China Model 3. With Gigafactory Shanghai now ready for Model Y production, however, it appears that Tesla China is now ready for a full-on assault on the country’s premium all-electric crossover market.

Tesla China has also announced that it expects Model Y customer deliveries to begin this month, as noted in a report from Reuters. This is roughly one year since the electric car maker started customer deliveries of the Made-in-China Model 3.

Het model is net op de Chinese markt geïntroduceerd en kampt al met wachttijden van vele maanden.

Tesla heeft zijn compacte SUV Model Y nog maar net op de Chinese markt gelanceerd, maar het succes is onmiddellijk van de partij. De auto’s voor China worden in een nieuwe fabriek in Shanghai gebouwd, waar ook al een tijdje de Model 3 wordt gebouwd. Minder dan een week nadat de bestelpagina voor de Model Y op Tesla’s Chinese website online is gegaan, blijkt de productie voor het eerste trimester uitverkocht. Wie nu een exemplaar bestelt, krijgt als verwachte leveringsdatum enkel “tweede kwartaal 2021” te zien. Voor de Performance-versie is dat zelfs al “derde kwartaal 2021”.

Ja, maar…

Al moeten we wel een belangrijke kanttekening maken: Tesla communiceert vandaag zelf niet aan welk tempo de Model Y wordt gebouwd in China. Analisten rekenen op maximaal 10.000 exemplaren in het eerste trimester van 2021, met een sterk stijging in de productie over de rest van het jaar.

Trouwens: in maart gaat naar verwachting ook Tesla’s eerste Europese fabriek van start, in de buurt van Berlijn. Ook die gaat de Model Y bouwen en moet de torenhoge ambities van Tesla ondersteunen. Het merk wil zo snel mogelijk zijn huidige verkoopcijfers verdubbelen naar een miljoen EV’s per jaar…

First off, it is going to be equipped with Tesla’s new 4680 battery cell, which features a tabless design enabling a bigger form-factor among other improvements.

These new cells are going to be used in a new structural battery pack design where the pack is used as a structural part of the vehicle’s chassis.

Finally, the new Model Y produced at Gigafactory Berlin is going to be built with far fewer parts than its US-made counterpart thanks to more giga-casting.

The front and the back underbody are going to be made each of a single part made in a ‘Giga Press’ and connected together by the structural battery pack.

These changes are expected to greatly simplify the production of the electric vehicle, reduce cost, and create a more efficient vehicle.

We recently reported on Tesla CEO Elon Musk sharing some of the progress made at Gigafactory Berlin, which now looks to be ready to start producing Model Y in just a few months.

Model Y is voor de beterverdienende Chinezen een betaalbare SUV/CUV die direct gaat concurreren met de plaatselijke merken NIO, Li Auto en XPeng die alle drie E-Suvs aanbieden. Dus ook in aankoopprijs.

Met spanning wordt er uitgekeken naar de januariverkoop van die 4 merken, specifiek "ruimere EV", alhoewel 1 maand zeker niet alles gaat beslissen hoe de smaak van de Chinezen gaat worden.

Na het eerste kwartaal van 2021 kan men eerder wel spreken van al dan niet dominantie van Tesla, ook in het "E-SUV-segment" in China...

Will Nio And Li Auto Stocks Face Pressure As Tesla’s Chinese Model Y Sales Begin?

Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) is starting deliveries of a locally made version of its Model Y compact SUV in China.

Will this impact high-flying Chinese electric vehicle makers Nio (NYSE: NIO) and Li Auto - who specialize in SUVs and have gained a lot of traction in the Chinese market in recent quarters.

It looks like it. There were signs of a slowdown for both EV players in their January 2021 delivery figures. Deliveries of Li Auto’s Li-One SUV declined by 12% versus December to 5,379. Nio, too, saw delivery growth in January slow to 3% compared to December, when deliveries grew by around 30%. While these trends may not entirely be tied to Tesla’s entry into the crossover market, Tesla is expected to put pressure on both companies.

Tesla has been gaining ground in China. It sold over 23,000 locally made Model 3 vehicles in China in December - that’s more vehicles than the big three EV startups Nio, Li Auto, and Xpeng put together. Now the Model Y is arguably going to be more popular compared to the Model 3, considering Chinese customer’s preference for crossovers and SUVs. Although the Model Y is unlikely to qualify for China’s national subsidy for electric vehicles, unlike the Model 3 sedan, Tesla has also priced the vehicle competitively, starting at about RMB 339,900 ($52,500). That’s below the RMB 353,600 subsidized starting price for Nio’s EC6 SUV, and slightly ahead of the RMB 328,000 subsidized price for Li Auto’s SUVs.

Tesla’s stronger global brand image and software features could make its vehicles much more attractive to Chinese customers. Tesla also has the scale to take on these companies in the SUV market. Its Shanghai plant which began operations in late 2019 is likely to produce as much as half a million vehicles this year. In comparison, Nio is looking to increase production capacity to about 150,000 units.

However, Nio and Li Auto do have some advantages. Charging infrastructure remains limited in China, hence Nio is betting big on modular batteries for its EVs that can be swapped out in a matter of minutes, helping to reduce range anxiety while providing batteries as a service (BaaS) under a subscription program. Similarly, Li’s focus is on vehicles that have a small gasoline engine that can generate additional electric power for the battery, reducing reliance on EV-charging infrastructure. These companies also have the backing of the Chinese government and big tech companies and this could prove an advantage not just from the perspective of understanding the market better, but also from a regulatory standpoint. For example, Nio’s backers include Tencent and Baidu. The company has also been bailed out by the Chinese government in the past.

Nio stock has rallied by over 15% over the last week, amid anticipation ahead of the company’s annual Nio day event that was held on Saturday. Nio’s market cap now stands at a whopping $93 billion- almost as much as General Motors and Ford combined. Does Nio warrant such a valuation? The company is certainly growing fast, with Revenue poised to double to about $5 billion in 2021 with deliveries growing fast (Nio delivered a record 7,000 cars in December). The addressable market is also growing quickly, considering that China - Nio’s home country - has set a target that 25% of car sales by 2025 must be new energy vehicles that are not purely gasoline-driven. That being said, is Nio building a competitive advantage to justify its current valuation and fend off rivals as the market gets more crowded?

Last month, Tesla Inc. started delivering its second Chinese-made vehicle, the Model Y compact crossover vehicle. The company sold 15,484 Model 3s and Model Ys that were made in its Shanghai factory, CPCA data showed.

Aha, raadseltje opgelost het is toch 15.484 voor 3 en Y tesamen.

Via twitter heb ik de januariverkoop met 13.843 model 3, bron CPCA dus enkel China.

Model Y is dan 1.641 verkocht vanaf 18 januari, en haalt die top 15 lijst PEV niet. Volgende maand alvast wel.



De mini-mini EV van Wuling (2,92 m lang, amper 13,9 kWh batterijpack) is de best verkochte EV -specifiek China- met 25.778 stuks.
Met exportverkoop zelfs 36.762 verkocht in janauari 2021.

Stads-mini die ook met 9,3 kWh verkrijgbaar is, de range zou voor stadssnelheden nog altijd ruim genoeg zijn.

Eerste Tesla model Y zijn al enkele dagen in Europese landen uitgeleverd.

De boten komen wel van Shanghai, China. (omdat Tesla Berlijn pas in enkele maanden in productie kan gaan)

Voor zover ik de inschrijvingsstats kan zien van *Noorwegen, Nederland en Spanje zijn het wslk allemaal *Long Range versies (made in China = CN), dus Model Y CN-LR.
Voor Noorwegen 20 momenteel en verder oplopend. (die 1 LR is US-versie)

Nederland nog altijd 9, en Spanje 17, die stats zullen nog aangepast worden.
