Standaard Evolutie batterijen qua snelladen

Huawei's new charger supports 135W fast charging

2021-01-04

A new charger from Huawei has received regulatory approval, and it supports 20V/6.75A input, meaning up to 135W fast charging, according to a well-known Weibo blogger.

Qualcomm announces new fast charging standard that can fully charge your phone battery in 15 mins

2020-07-28

Qualcomm yesterday announced a new fast charging technology called Quick Charging 5 (QC 5). Qualcomm claims that the new standard will charge a 4500mAh battery from 0 to 50 percent in 5 minutes and to 100 percent in 15 minutes.

Dus aanschuiven voor een splash and go?

Zap-Map: Tesla, InstaVolt And Osprey Are The Top UK Charging Networks

Jan 11, 2021 at 4:58pm ET

Well known names like Shell, IONITY or BP are far behind in user's satisfaction ranking.

According to Zap-Map’s annual survey of fast charging networks in the UK, Tesla remains the top fast-charging network for another year, being “the standard all networks should aspire to” (see also the results in 2020 and in 2019).

The satisfaction survey ranks a total of 16 charging networks, counting opinions from more than 1,500 Zap-Map users, in the four key areas of reliability, ease of use, cost and facilities.

The second best network, and the first publicly available (as Tesla is a reserved for Tesla cars), is InstaVolt, which maintains its high position from two previous years. Zap-Map highlighted one user comment: “modern, super reliable, generally come in pairs and contactless payment is a huge plus”."

The third is Osprey (formerly Engenie), which highly increased its position - from 8 a year ago - thanks to "reliability and ease of use". Zap-Map highlighted one user comment: “nice and visible, good locations, simple to use”.

As you can see, there are some surprises, as well known names are getting relatively weak results. For example, bp pulse (formerly BP Chargemaster/ Polar) is now #13 with 2.9 points (down for #5 in 2019), Shell Recharge is #6 (but the overall score is 3.5), while the IONITY is even lower - at #10 with 3.1 points.

Zap-map's users said also that the most important factor in their consideration of charging points is reliability, far ahead of ease of use, cost and facilities.

In other words, don't even think about high positions if your fast-charging stations have issues. This is true in the UK, as well as in other markets.

"As part of the survey, EV drivers were also asked to rank the factors which were most important when choosing a charge point. Reliability remained the key factor (weighting 5.0), followed by ease of use (2.6), cost (2.3) and finally the local amenities at the charging location (1.0). These weightings demonstrate the continuing importance of reliability and ease of use for EV drivers when accessing charging services."

Tesla lanceert filmpje over productieband nieuwe batterijcellen 4680:

Citaat:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jmd1lTSRFyU

Elon Musk hinted a million mile battery of 4680 cell production via lyric of a song called Honey Bee
https://electrek.co/2020/09/22/tesla...-power-energy/

Citaat:
https://electrek.co/2020/11/24/tesla...up-to-250-gwh/

Tesla’s first full battery cell factory will produce up to 250 GWh — roughly the current world capacity

- Nov. 24th 2020
...

The CEO said about the new battery factory:

I think it will possibly be the largest battery cell plant in the world. I think it will be the largest. It will be capable of over 100 GWh per year and possibly over time, it will be going over 200 to 250 GWh. I’m pretty confident that at that point, it will be the largest battery cell plant in the world.

Bloomberg estimates that 250 GWh is just under the current world production capacity for li-ion battery cells — though that could more than double by the time Tesla reaches that kind of capacity at Gigafactory Berlin:

In order to achieve that kind of capacity, Musk said that Tesla still needs to improve its production processes at the pilot plant to achieve higher cycle time for the first full-scale factory in Berlin.

Tesla also needs to redesign some machinery for “continuous flow operation.”

As Tesla explained on battery day, the production processes developed for the automaker’s new battery cell are supposed to be more capital and energy efficient and also have a smaller carbon footprint — making the battery cells cleaner to produce.

Tesla hasn’t provided a clear timeline for the start of battery production at Gigafactory Berlin, but it is expected to start around the same time as vehicle production, which they officially aim to achieve in July 2021.

That’s because the automaker plans to use its new structural battery pack technology to produce the Model Y in Berlin and that requires the new 4680 battery cells.

However, Tesla said that it will support the production of the European Model Y with battery cell production at its pilot production facility.

Therefore, the timing for battery cell production at the new factory is not completely clear at this point.

Elon Musk plant weltgrößte Batteriefabrik in Grünheide
