Morgen betogen meer dan tachtig organisaties tegen de oorlog in Irak. Onder die organisaties onze grote vakbonden, de vzw Vrede enz.

Men spreekt over een 'vredesbetoging'.
Maar ze gaat alleen over Irak.
[SIZE=5]W[/SIZE]aarom ook ook geen aandacht vragen voor o.a. de miljoenen mensen die in oorlogsgeweld sterven in Afrika? En voor de oorlog in Tsjetsjeniië?...

Het zijn betogingen tegen de illegale aanvalsoorlog tegen Irak en tegen de bezetting van dat land. Is daar iets onduidelijks aan?

Het is evident dat het hier gaat om betogingen waarbij men - gewild of ongewild - de meest barbaarse terroristische moordenaars aanmoedigt en ondersteunt. Ik ben benieuwd of er in die betoging één iemand zal protesteren tegen de gruweldaden die door diverse terroristische bewegingen in Irak gepleegd worden. Het antwoord ken ik al, vrees ik.
Ik vraag mij trouwens af wanneer deze zelfde mensen gaan betogen tegen de afslachting en verdrijving van de bevolking in Darfur door Arabische milities?

En natuurlijk zijn er andere oorlogen, natuurlijk zijn er in veel landen ook onderlinge twisten. (Vaak daar dan nog Westerse landen indirect mee gemoeid maar dat ter zijde.) Ik denk dat landen uiteindelijk het intern zelf maar moeten oplossen, wie zijn wij om ons te moeien.
Maar wat mij dus veel meer tegen de borst stoot dan twisten binnen landen zelf, is de agressie van het imperialistische Westen. Zij staan voor vrijheid, democratie, soevereniteit (nu ja, Baskenland, Noord-Ierland, ... zijn daar nu ook niet echt voorbeelden van maar dat is alleszins wat het Westen over zichzelf beweert), mensenrechten, ... maar gaan wel andere landen platbombarderen, bezetten en de volkeren ervan onderdrukken om de belangen van het goede, moreel hogere, vrije, ... Westen veilig te stellen daarbij niet kijkend op welke oorlogsconventie of ander 'vodje papier' dan ook. Ik ga dus naar dergelijke betoging om deze hypocrisie aan te klagen.

Geen enkele hoeveelheid VS-soldaten kan dat probleem oplossen.Het zal van de Iraqis zelf moeten komen.....

U neemt uw wensen voor werkelijkheid. Mochten de zgn. bezetters Irak verlaten dan zal het een kwestie van uren en niet van dagen zijn vooraleer het ganse land de lucht in gaat. Als we de houding van de zelfbenoemde vredesbeweging inzake Sudan nemen zal dit niet erg zijn want er is dan ten minste geen geweld door het "westerse imperialisme".
