Regarding the concerns expressed by the students, we wish to affirm that the current Ministerial Meeting puts the social dimension of higher education very high on the political agenda and emphasises that there is more need for equitable access to and equal opportunities in higher education. Moreover, in view of widening access and participation in higher education, public funding remains of the utmost priority.



We would like to highlight that the Bologna Process is a stakeholder driven process with full student participation and involvement at all levels. As a consultative member of the process, the European Students' Unionhas been a consistent advocate of the social dimension of higher education and the need for more public funding.

The Bologna Process has produced and will continue to produce greater transparency, better cooperation between institutions, and increased opportunities for mobility as well as more quality in higher education.
