Steeds meer antisemitisme in de wereld

Vorig jaar is het aantal gewelddaden tegen Joden of Joodse instellingen fors gestegen. Vooral in Frankrijk zou dat het geval zijn.

Vorig jaar heeft een gespecialiseerd instituut in de Israëlische stad Tel Aviv 766 gevallen van geweld tegen Joden opgetekend. Dat is 40% meer dan in 2013.

Bijna een vijfde van de aanvallen vonden plaats in Frankrijk, daarna volgt Duitsland met 76 geweldplegingen. Dat is meer dan een verdubbeling op een jaar tijd. In België steeg het aantal gevallen van antisemitisme van 11 naar 30 en ook dat is meer dan het dubbele. Het zwaarste geval was de terreuraanslag tegen het Joodse Museum in Brussel, waarbij vier doden vielen.

Door het stijgende aantal gevallen voelen veel Europese Joden zich niet meer veilig. De Israëlische premier Benjamin Netanyahu heeft de Joden in Europa vorig jaar opgeroepen om zich in Israël te komen vestigen, maar daarop was ook kritiek gekomen.

Procentueel gezien zijn daar (veel) meer antisemieten, ja.

Doch moet het aantal witte antisemieten ook niet onderschat worden. Alleen al aan dit forum zie je dat.
