Abou Jahjah terug naar Libanon?

Als men op de site van de AEL leest dat Jahjah zich nog volop libanees voelt is het misschien tijd om hem een ticket naar Beyrouth te bezorgen?
Voor de rest is dat gans gedoe echt om van omver te vallen van 't lachen! Erger is dat er gisteren (natuurlijk niet op VRT gezien..) nog een massabetoging was in de stijl van "de dolle moeders in Buenos Aires" over al de libanese politieke gevangen bij de Syrial Killers van aSSad, de oogdokter, en waarvan men sinds jaren geen nieuws heeft! (dit probleem is niet nieuw, maar mag hier niet aan de orde komen:

Press Statement
Brussels 25 February 2005

After the latest stormy developments in Lebanon and the deep division between the government and its allies and the so called opposition the assembly of Lebanese Democrats in Europe declares the following:

First: that we do distinguish between the Arab national role of Syria in the struggle against the Zionist entity and the imperialistic plans targeting our Arab Nation, which is a role that we support and salute. And the excesses of the Syrian military presence in Lebanon that constitutes one of the sources of corruption and sectarianism which we condemn. Out of this perspective, we are in favor of a correction of the nature of the relationship between Lebanon and Syria and its reorganization in a more healthy and natural form, including a Syrian military withdrawal out of Lebanon within a framework of mutual understanding between both governments founded upon the firm common Arab national commitments.

Second: we reject Security Council resolution 1559 that was issued through American and French Pressure and that of the Zionist entity. The named resolution contains real dangers for Lebanon and targets the resistance aiming at its destruction and disarmament, and also aiming at imposing the final settlement in Lebanon of all Palestinian refugees.

Third: we condemn the so called “opposition” that is being supported and manipulated by outside forces mainly the French-American bold interference in internal Lebanese matters. We do also remind everybody that the main forces in this “opposition” are equally responsible for the theft and ravage policy in the country since it was in government for most of the period from the end of the civil war and till now.

Fourth: we strongly declare that the arms of the resistance should be kept and protected and that resistance as a way should also be protected from any attack internally or externally and on any level. The resistance (arms and method) is a central pivot for the confrontation against the Zionist and American enemy in our region.

Fifth: We condemn the racist attacks on Syrian workers in Lebanon and we call on all parties to keep them out of this struggle and at the same time we are aware of the need to regularize their legal situation.

Sixth: we consider that the compromise that was reached during the conference of Ta’ef in order to put an end to the civil war is already outdated. So we call for the elimination of every form of communitarian political system in Lebanon and for the dismantling of the sectarian farms and the mafias that were built around them. And instead we demand the building of a society that is governed by the values of Freedom, social justice and Democracy based upon a conception of citizenship and citizenship only. We also call for the continuous commitment of this society to the Arab identity of Lebanon and its commitment to the Arab National cause.
