S. Korean LG Plans Investment in Turkey By Zelis Yildiral, Istanbul Published: Friday, February 24, 2006 zaman.com Electronics giant South Korean LG intensified its efforts to become more prominent in the Turkish mobile phone market. The South Korean mobile phone company intends to triple its sales, and will manufacture in Turkey if the new models set to be released in May sell well. LG-Turkey General Manager, James Lew, says: "We believe in Turkey. Our profit will become definite in the days to come." LG surpassed Nokia to become the number-one mobile phone brand in Britain, and introduced its two products, Chocolate (Son80) and Leo to the world. The new models have touch-tone control and selection keys, and also have a five mega pixel resolution to take photographs. The Leo and Chocolate models will be sold for $700. Senguller is the distributor set to sell the new LG products. |
