In de Ierse Republiek zijn de zittingen over mogelijke corruptie door voormalig Minister-President Bertie Ahern afgerond. De man is met de grond gelijk gemaakt en over de hele lijn schuldig bevonden.

Waarom is men in de media zo discreet over
-De verkiezingsnederlagen van Merkel? (er zijn er al enkele geweest)
-Sarkozy die Hollande voorbijsteekt in de peilingen, na het drama in Toulouse?
-Amerikaanse diensten die verklaren, overtuigd te zijn dat Iran niet aan een kernwapen werkt?
IMHO:
Er is gewoon te veel relevant en interessant nieuws, meer dan de modale krntenlezer wordt geacht te kunnen absorberen: veetee-emisering van de media.

Wie gaat er garen spinnen bij de Ierse toestand? De ECB en dus Duitsland die een excuus zien om de vijs wat harder aan te draaien op de rebelse leerlingstaten in de E.U.? NL is al in 't vizier, las ik.
We wisten al dat de ECB en IMF regels in Ierland een flop werden:

We wisten al dat de ECB en IMF regels in Ierland een flop werden:

Ahern zal nu de geknipte zondebok zijn.

Dat is één mogelijkheid, die zeker steek houdt. Tegelijkertijd kijk ik uit naar de reacties vanuit de Ierse oppositie, i.e. ex-IRA-facties, Sinn Féin (opvallend stil) en radicalere groepen zoals éir�*g�*.

Het is bovendien interessant te zien hoe er alles aan gedaan wordt om inderdaad ook regionale besturen (zoals in Spanje) en lokale besturen (zoals nu in Ierland) mee in het modderbad te sleuren.
Op zich is dat zelfs terecht: de corruptie is alom aanwezig, van hoog tot laag, van verticaal tot horizontaal.
