That's pretty weird, because alcohol has more medicinal uses than honey.

By the way, in your example, where the prophet prescribes honey, he's not prescribing this specific honey there, so he's only making use of the medicinal properties of honey people already knew about in those days. Although personally I'd been more likely to prescribe it if his brother had been coughing a lot.
