Jij schijnt de cijfers te kennen. Ik niet. Je mag ze dus gerust geven.
Maar het zou mij verwonderen dat Limburg steun ontvangen heeft van Europa (90 miljoen Euro per jaar en dit al 11 jaar lang!!) én dat Wallonië meebetaald heeft.

Maar dat is één aspect van de zaak.
Wat vind je van het "eigen volk eerst" beleid van het Waalse Gewest?

The European Commission has approved a development programme for the province of Limburg in Belgium for the period 2000-2006. This programme amounts to € 92.7 million in financial support from the European Union. The European funding will attract a further € 119 million in investment from the Flemish public sector and € 28.7 million from the private sector, which brings total spending on the programme to € 240.4 million. The aim of this programme is to foster sustainable economic development by targeting leading local economic sectors.

Announcing the decision, Michel Barnier, Member of the European Commission responsible for regional policy, said: "This programme is by far the biggest of the new Flemish "Objective 2" (1) programmes. It demonstrates the continued importance both the Commission and Flanders attach to the reconversion of the former mining area and the economic diversification of its agricultural zones. The Commission welcomes, in particular, the attention given to technologically advanced sectors and to the development of the local services sector, which provides good opportunities for increasing the number of women on the labour market".

The programme will benefit parts of the former mining area, mainly in the Hasselt district undergoing socio-economic change as well as the rural Haspengouw area in the Tongeren district.

Ik denk dat Limburg "objective 2" is zoals Luik. Henegauwen is "objective 1" en krijgt meer geld.

Ik denk dat Limburg "objective 2" is zoals Luik. Henegauwen is "objective 1" en krijgt meer geld.

Ik heb het misschien verkeerd maar ik vermoed dat dit bovenop de eerdere "Fenix" toelagen komt, waarmee o.a. het voetbalstadion van Genk werdt gebouwd (die cijfers dateren van in de jaren 70/80 geloof ik).
