The Buffalo Savings Bank, NY was constructed from 1899 until 1901. Those donkeys worked their asses off because the people really needed it! It is covered with 13,500 terra-cotta tiles. The tiles originally were overlaid with copper. In those days, that was easy :

Baltimore Fire 1904, they destroyed another "Flatiron". These buildings were everywhere.

The Gillender Building in Manhattan, NY, was build in 1 year, actually in abouth 10 months between 1896 and 1897. They couldn't explain it, so in 1910 it was tore down.

Boston and Main Railroad Depot, Salem, MA, 1910. A castle build in 1847 that replaced the previous, ofcourse it did. People were desperate for castle-like Railroad Depots in Salem in 1847, couldn't imagine life without them.
