The Ministry of Defence turned large parts of the country into a giant laboratory to conduct a series of secret germ warfare tests on the public.

A government report just released provides for the first time a comprehensive official history of Britain's biological weapons trials between 1940 and 1979.

Many of these tests involved releasing potentially dangerous chemicals and micro-organisms over vast swaths of the population without the public being told.

While details of some secret trials have emerged in recent years, the 60-page report reveals new information about more than 100 covert experiments.

The report reveals that military personnel were briefed to tell any 'inquisitive inquirer' the trials were part of research projects into weather and air pollution.

The tests, carried out by government scientists at Porton Down, were designed to help the MoD assess Britain's vulnerability if the Russians were to have released clouds of deadly germs over the country.

In most cases, the trials did not use biological weapons but alternatives which scientists believed would mimic germ warfare and which the MoD claimed were harmless. But families in certain areas of the country who have children with birth defects are demanding a public inquiry.

One chapter of the report, 'The Fluorescent Particle Trials', reveals how between 1955 and 1963 planes flew from north-east England to the tip of Cornwall along the south and west coasts, dropping huge amounts of zinc cadmium sulphide on the population. The chemical drifted miles inland, its fluorescence allowing the spread to be monitored. In another trial using zinc cadmium sulphide, a generator was towed along a road near Frome in Somerset where it spewed the chemical for an hour.

While the Government has insisted the chemical is safe, cadmium is recognised as a cause of lung cancer and during the Second World War was considered by the Allies as a chemical weapon.

In another chapter, 'Large Area Coverage Trials', the MoD describes how between 1961 and 1968 more than a million people along the south coast of England, from Torquay to the New Forest, were exposed to bacteria including e.coli and bacillus globigii , which mimics anthrax. These releases came from a military ship, the Icewhale, anchored off the Dorset coast, which sprayed the micro-organisms in a five to 10-mile radius.

The report also reveals details of the DICE trials in south Dorset between 1971 and 1975. These involved US and UK military scientists spraying into the air massive quantities of serratia marcescens bacteria, with an anthrax simulant and phenol.

Similar bacteria were released in 'The Sabotage Trials' between 1952 and 1964. These were tests to determine the vulnerability of large government buildings and public transport to attack. In 1956 bacteria were released on the London Underground at lunchtime along the Northern Line between Colliers Wood and Tooting Broadway. The results show that the organism dispersed about 10 miles. Similar tests were conducted in tunnels running under government buildings in Whitehall.

Experiments conducted between 1964 and 1973 involved attaching germs to the threads of spiders' webs in boxes to test how the germs would survive in different environments. These tests were carried out in a dozen locations across the country, including London's West End, Southampton and Swindon. The report also gives details of more than a dozen smaller field trials between 1968 and 1977.

In recent years, the MoD has commissioned two scientists to review the safety of these tests. Both reported that there was no risk to public health, although one suggested the elderly or people suffering from breathing illnesses may have been seriously harmed if they inhaled sufficient quantities of micro-organisms.

However, some families in areas which bore the brunt of the secret tests are convinced the experiments have led to their children suffering birth defects, physical handicaps and learning difficulties.

David Orman, an army officer from Bournemouth, is demanding a public inquiry. His wife, Janette, was born in East Lulworth in Dorset, close to where many of the trials took place. She had a miscarriage, then gave birth to a son with cerebral palsy. Janette's three sisters, also born in the village while the tests were being carried out, have also given birth to children with unexplained problems, as have a number of their neighbours.

The local health authority has denied there is a cluster, but Orman believes otherwise. He said: 'I am convinced something terrible has happened. The village was a close-knit community and to have so many birth defects over such a short space of time has to be more than coincidence.'

Successive governments have tried to keep details of the germ warfare tests secret. While reports of a number of the trials have emerged over the years through the Public Records Office, this latest MoD document - which was released to Liberal Democrat MP Norman Baker - gives the fullest official version of the biological warfare trials yet.

Baker said: 'I welcome the fact that the Government has finally released this information, but question why it has taken so long. It is unacceptable that the public were treated as guinea pigs without their knowledge, and I want to be sure that the Ministry of Defence's claims that these chemicals and bacteria used were safe is true.'

The MoD report traces the history of the UK's research into germ warfare since the Second World War when Porton Down produced five million cattle cakes filled with deadly anthrax spores which would have been dropped in Germany to kill their livestock. It also gives details of the infamous anthrax experiments on Gruinard on the Scottish coast which left the island so contaminated it could not be inhabited until the late 1980s.

The report also confirms the use of anthrax and other deadly germs on tests aboard ships in the Caribbean and off the Scottish coast during the 1950s. The document states: 'Tacit approval for simulant trials where the public might be exposed was strongly influenced by defence security considerations aimed obviously at restricting public knowledge. An important corollary to this was the need to avoid public alarm and disquiet about the vulnerability of the civil population to BW [biological warfare] attack.'

Sue Ellison, spokeswoman for Porton Down, said: 'Independent reports by eminent scientists have shown there was no danger to public health from these releases which were carried out to protect the public.

'The results from these trials_ will save lives, should the country or our forces face an attack by chemical and biological weapons.'

Asked whether such tests are still being carried out, she said: 'It is not our policy to discuss ongoing research.'

The most commonly used commercial turbine jet fuels today are named JET-A, JET-A1, and JET-B. All of these are kerosene type fuels except JET-B which is a kerosene-naphtha blend for colder climates [1, 2]. JET-A is used internationally and JET-A1 is available only in the US. The US military primarily uses its own kerosene jet fuel, JP-8, which is similar to JET-A1 [11, 2].

A number of chemical additives are used in these fuels including corrosion inhibitors, temperature stabilizers, detergents, and static electricity dissipators. Static dissipators are of particular importance to atmospheric aerosol and environmental research, due to their metal content and their widespread use in commercial and military jet fuel [17, 8]. Octel Starreon Stadis® 450 is a static dissipator, comprised of dinonylnapthalene sulfonic acid and other organic solvents, and according to the product MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), it contains two “trade secret” ingredients [18]. Stadis 450 is the only approved anti-static additive for use in Air Force aviation fuels, including JP-8, JP-5, JET-A1, and JET-B [9]. DuPont, the original manufacturer, reports having divested its production of Stadis 450 in September of 1994 to Octel Starreon LLC , now a subsidiary of Innospec Fuel Specialties. Innospec also manufactures another static dissipator additive called Statsafe®. However, according to Exxon Mobil, Stadis 450 continues to be the static dissipator of choice for commercial and military aviation [17].

Although the “trade secret” ingredients are well protected by the manufacturer, a recent study contracted by the EPA [10] and other sources strongly imply that these ingredients are salts of barium and/or calcium. The EPA classifies this dinonylnaphthalene sulfonic acid, barium salt as a “HPV” (High Production Volume) chemical, meaning it is “produced or imported into the United States in quantities of 1 million pounds or more per year [12].” This same study reports that “Based on the available toxicity results, dinonylnaphthalene sulfonic acid, barium salt appears to be the most biologically active member of the [dinonylnaphthalene] category [10].”

It is hypothesized that jet exhaust aerosol [4] is responsible for cloud seeding, rainbow diffraction, and dichroism observed in persistent contrails [5]. While “skeptics” may dismiss the very existence of persistent contrails, the phenomenon is widespread and commonly accepted among atmospheric scientists [7]. The exact cause of aerosol cloud seeding has been the subject of endless debate, but it has been shown conclusively that the earth’s albedo, or its overall reflectivity, is increased by contrail aerosol (see chemtrails.cc satellite imagery category).

In the 3 days after the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 during which the FAA grounded all commercial aircraft in the US, a unique opportunity to study atmospheric aerosol presented itself. David J. Travis, University of Wisconsin found significant changes in surface temperature and presented his findings to the American Meteorological Society [6].

There are a number of byproducts of combustion of kerosene jet fuel and its additives, including water, carbon dioxide, soot, sulfuric and nitrous acid, sulfur and nitrogen oxides, and metal ions [3], although this is by no means a complete list. Carbon monoxide and aromatic hydrocarbons also result from incomplete combustion.

Not surprisingly, UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) only makes casual mention of these metal particles, and fails to provide any information as to their role in atmospheric aerosol formation.

If one phenomenon gives away the presence of metals in the aerosol, it would be the large number of high altitude rainbows produced by contrail aerosol. Virtually unheard of prior to 1990, bright rainbows, sometimes referred to as “circumhorizon arcs” or more commonly, “chembows,” can be observed regularly wherever jet aircraft fly.

According to a patent issued to Hughes Aircraft Company for dispersing metallic aerosol into the stratosphere, particles may stay suspended for up to a year. Hughes Aircraft, a major US defense contractor [14, 15], has been bought and sold by other defense contractors such as Boeing and Raytheon in recent years.

The particles may be seeded by dispersal from seeding aircraft; one exemplary technique may be via the jet fuel as suggested by prior work regarding the metallic particles. Once the tiny particles have been dispersed into the atmosphere, the particles may remain in suspension for up to one year.

To avoid making qualitative judgements, I will not elaborate the point that the horizon has been consistently grey, anywhere near commercial airports, since at least the early 1990s. But it would appear that the metal aerosol is indeed being dispersed, and staying suspended. While corporate media generally claims there can be no further debate about climate change, there are thousands of respected scientists who dispute the notion that atmospheric CO2 is the primary cause, and take exception to the idea that human intervention is required to “correct” it. At least 400 of them have testified to this effect to the US Senate [16].

Critical thinkers must question whether, with such flimsy scientific evidence, controlling the climate is the true motivation behind this metal aerosol dispersal. A 10 mile thick blanket of metal aerosol may have other uses to the militaries of the world, particularly in the fields of surveillance, aircraft and missile guidance, radar ducting, and radio frequency weapons systems.

Geoengineering was correctly promoted as a drastic last resort to the worst effects of rapid Global Warming. It' suspicious and disturbing the the military-industrial-complex seems too anxious to spray the skies even before the Kyoto Protocol was given a chance to reduce carbon emissions. Considering the stated mission of "Owning the Waether in 2025", it's rational to wonder if the Geoengineering to save us from Global Warming is a pretext to weaponize the atmosphere, instead.

So lets take another look at the 1991 Welsbach patent considered to be the most likely method of gengineering with "Chemtrails". Stratospheric Welsbach Seeding for Reduction of Global Warming. Let's look at the fine print.

Adding tiny (nano-sized) reflective metallic particles to the fuel of jetliners is discussed. While this method appears to match what we often see in the skies, the inventor admits the net effect would be a net increase in global warming. Just the opposite of what the patent claims to fix.

The summary of the invention is explicit that Aluminum oxide is the equivalent to what is called a "Welsbach material". If deployment of particles below the Stratosphere will increase global warming we can assume the atmosphere has been successfully warmed for over a decade. While passenger jets and Air Force tankers achieve high altitudes in the troposphere, neither aircraft is capable of true and adequate Stratospheric Aerosol geoengineering (SAG) at most pplanetary latitudes.

The definition of "Welsbach material" is never made clear. Thorium oxide and Aluminum oxide are presented as two acceptable metal oxides that are equivalent to Welsbach Meterials. But is Barium oxide also a Welsbach material, or additive to the oxides of Aluminum or Thorium? Is Barium sprayed in addition to the Welsbach formula for a purpose having nothing to do with "Global Warming?" Could Aluminum and Barium oxides be sprayed from the same jet tanker but for different reasons?

STADIS-450, is a "static dissipator" fuel additive that coould provide an answer. Although the ingredients are a "trade secret" study contracted by the EPA [10] and others implies these ingredients contain salts of barium and/or calcium. The EPA report also finds this barium salt is imported into the United States in high quantities of 1 million pounds or more per year.

Broad application of Stadis 450 suggests the high Barium results in lab tests could be an incidental and INVISIBLE fall-out from commerical AND miltary jets. If so, the pollution of Barium may have nothing directly to do with Startospheric Aerosol Geoengineering. However the high volume of Barium reported in lab tests is more likely the result of an increase in overall air traffic by the addition of so many Military jets needed to spray the persistant contrails that we also refer to as "Chemtrails".

It would be naive to assume the intended Geoengineering compound contains only Aluminum oxide, however.

Aside from STADIS-450 the formula for the military version of JP-8 fuel is also classified, leaving the possibility that the jet fuel actually contains the aluminum oxide found to be associated with the high Barium analysis.

Can the patenting process be corrupted to misrepresent the intent of an invention? In the case of the Powder contrail generator, the inventor was allowed the unethical privelage of corrupting the definition of "contrail" to include a dry powder formula. Now the Welsbach patent contains sufficient ambiguities as to raise serious questions about intent to deceive.

However the patent does not deceive us that these 10 to 100 micron size particles have been raining down to poison the earth and humanity since 1997

The bill also addresses such things as particle beams, electromagnetic radiation, plasma, or extremely low frequency (ELF) or ultra low frequency (ULF) energy radiation, and mind-control as weapons. All of these areas have been researched and pondered by those investigating chemtrails and working to gain accountability for those programs.

They can't have it both ways. Water vapor is not a weapon.

This is a call to all those of conscience. This is a time when action is needed. It is time. The lies have gone on long enough. We can tell the Air Force and the Navy and the other agencies involved in this criminal activity, "No, You may NOT own the Weather ...Period!" We may not have another chance.

To preserve the cooperative, peaceful uses of space for the benefit of all humankind by permanently prohibiting the basing of weapons in space by the United States, and to require the President to take action to adopt and implement a world treaty banning space-based weapons.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the `Space Preservation Act of 2001'.

SEC. 2. REAFFIRMATION OF POLICY ON THE PRESERVATION OF PEACE IN SPACE.

Congress reaffirms the policy expressed in section 102(a) of the National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958 (42 U.S.C. 2451(a)), stating that it `is the policy of the United States that activities in space should be devoted to peaceful purposes for the benefit of all mankind.'.

SEC. 3. PERMANENT BAN ON BASING OF WEAPONS IN SPACE.

The President shall--

(1) implement a permanent ban on space-based weapons of the United States and remove from space any existing space-based weapons of the United States; and

(2) immediately order the permanent termination of research and development, testing, manufacturing, production, and deployment of all space-based weapons of the United States and their components.

SEC. 4. WORLD AGREEMENT BANNING SPACE-BASED WEAPONS.

The President shall direct the United States representatives to the United Nations and other international organizations to immediately work toward negotiating, adopting, and implementing a world agreement banning space-based weapons.

SEC. 5. REPORT.

The President shall submit to Congress not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, and every 90 days thereafter, a report on--

(1) the implementation of the permanent ban on space-based weapons required by section 3; and

(2) progress toward negotiating, adopting, and implementing the agreement described in section 4.

SEC. 6. NON SPACE-BASED WEAPONS ACTIVITIES.

Nothing in this Act may be construed as prohibiting the use of funds for--

(1) space exploration;

(2) space research and development;

(3) testing, manufacturing, or production that is not related to space-based weapons or systems; or

(4) civil, commercial, or defense activities (including communications, navigation, surveillance, reconnaissance, early warning, or remote sensing) that are not related to space-based weapons or systems.

SEC. 7. DEFINITIONS.

In this Act:

(1) The term `space' means all space extending upward from an altitude greater than 60 kilometers above the surface of the earth and any celestial body in such space.

(2)(A) The terms `weapon' and `weapons system' mean a device capable of any of the following:

(i) Damaging or destroying an object (whether in outer space, in the atmosphere, or on earth) by--

(I) firing one or more projectiles to collide with that object;

(II) detonating one or more explosive devices in close proximity to that object;

(III) directing a source of energy (including molecular or atomic energy, subatomic particle beams, electromagnetic radiation, plasma, or
extremely low frequency (ELF) or ultra low frequency (ULF) energy radiation) against that object; or

(IV) any other unacknowledged or as yet undeveloped means.

(ii) Inflicting death or injury on, or damaging or destroying, a person (or the biological life, bodily health, mental health, or physical and economic well-being of a person)--

(I) through the use of any of the means described in clause (i) or subparagraph (B);

(II) through the use of land-based, sea-based, or space-based systems using radiation, electromagnetic, psychotronic, sonic, laser, or other energies directed at individual persons or targeted populations for the purpose of information war, mood management, or mind control of such persons or populations; or

(III) by expelling chemical or biological agents in the vicinity of a person.

(B) Such terms include exotic weapons systems such as--

(i) electronic, psychotronic, or information weapons;

(ii) chemtrails;

(iii) high altitude ultra low frequency weapons systems;

(iv) plasma, electromagnetic, sonic, or ultrasonic weapons;

(v) laser weapons systems;

(vi) strategic, theater and tactical weapons

(vii) chemical, biological, environmental, climate, or tectonic weapons.

(C) The term `exotic weapons systems' includes weapons designed to damage space or natural ecosystems (such as the ionosphere and upper atmosphere) or climate, weather, and tectonic systems with the purpose of inducing damage or destruction upon a target population or region on earth or in space.

Legislation Introduced On Same Day Air Force States It Wishes To Use Space For Both Offensive and Defensive Purposes

Washington, May 18, 2005 - Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH) today introduced legislation to ban the weaponization of space.

The legislation, introduced on the same day that it was announced that the Air Force is seeking permission to place both offensive and defensive weapons in space, will ban both weapons stationed in outer space and the targeting of any objects in space. Under the legislation, the use of space-based reconnaissance and intelligence equipment would be permitted.

The legislation was also introduced in the last Congress.

Kucinich gave the following speech today on the House floor on his legislation:

“The Administration is considering putting weapons in outer space, to give the United States the power to control the world. This astronomical arrogance pushes not simply aggression to new heights, but may well preclude our nation from spending money for anything other than weapons, which will cost hundreds of billions of dollars.

“The National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958 states that it is “the policy of the United States that activities in space should be devoted to peaceful purposes for the benefit of all mankind.” Space was envisioned as a place of cooperation, of confirming human unity, a place where we could aspire to build a new platform of peace, fulfilling the prophecy of the poet Browning who wrote: “but a man’s reach should exceed his grasp, or what’s a heaven for?”

“What has happened to our country? Why are we projecting fear and paranoia to such heights? Have we so lost our way and our faith that we are prepared to transform the heavens into hell? If the kingdom and the will of God is to be done on earth as it is in heaven, what is to happen when the United States takes nuclear fire up to the gates of heaven?

What they are saying is that the aircraft contrails exhibit much different properties than expected from normal cirrus clouds and the contrails have very strong laser signatures ( In other words ...its not water vapor from the jet exhaust forming the cirrus clouds).

The radar return signal strength (Dbz levels) shown on the left side of the radar captures indicate that light rainfall is occurring, yet no precipitation was recorded during the time period in question. In all of the examples the Doppler radar is operating in clear air mode, not precipitation mode. THIS IS CONSISTENT WITH THE FINDINGS OF OTHER RESEARCHERS THAT THE CHEMTRAILS ARE PARTIALLY COMPOSED OF HIGHLY REFLECTIVE MATERIALS SUCH AS BARIUM, ALUMINUM AND OTHER METALLIC COMPOUNDS. Clear Air / Precip Modes


The dBZ values increase as the strength of the signal returned to the radar increases. Each reflectivity image you see includes one of two color scales. One scale (far left) represents dBZ values when the radar is in clear air mode (dBZ values from -28 to +28). The other scale (near left) represents dBZ values when the radar is in precipitation mode (dBZ values from 5 to 75). Notice the color on each scale remains the same in both operational modes, only the values change. The value of the dBZ depends upon the mode the radar is in at the time the image was created.

The scale of dBZ values is also related to the intensity of rainfall. Typically, light rain is occurring when the dBZ value reaches 20. The linear clouds in the examples above show Dbz levels close to or well above the 20 Dbz level.

* The horizon oriented Doppler weather radars (set to a maximum angle of 4.3 degrees) would not detect clouds above 20,000 feet within a 35 mile radius of the radar in "clear air" mode operational configuration. Many of the radar images show dense reflective signatures well within the 30 mile radius of the Doppler Radar's location indicating that the clouds are below 20,000 feet, well below the required elevation for persistent contrail formation (too warm: temperatures above the required -40C).

THE FACTS ARE: THE HIGHLY REFLECTIVE LINEAR CLOUDS CAN BE OBSERVED IN EVERY EXAMPLE WITHIN A 10 TO 20 MILE RADIUS OF THE RADAR LOCATION. WHICH MEANS THAT THE "PERSISTENT CONTRAILS" ARE WELL BELOW ELEVATIONS REQUIRED FOR CIRRUS CLOUDS OR CONTRAILS (30,000 ft.). THE TEMPERATURES AT THESE ELEVATIONS ARE TOO LOW REGARDLESS OF THE HUMIDITY LEVEL. WHICH MEANS THAT WHATEVER THE SPRAY IS COMPOSED OF IS FACTUALLY NOT WATER VAPOR from JET EXHAUST. THE SPRAY CAN BE OBSERVED IN THESE IMAGES DESCENDING UPON THE POPULATION BELOW. THE SPRAY IS BEING ABSORBED IN OUR LUNGS, SKIN, WATER AND FOOD.

It is interesting to note (actually unbelievable) that some of the comments from the research papers referred on this page indicate that the scientists do not believe what their data is telling them !! That what they are observing in the data is NOT WATER VAPOR !! Instead they choose to "adjust the models" to fit their own reality rather than question why the data does not fit their theory.

International negotiators at a United Nations-sponsored climate conference ending today in Bangkok repeatedly underscored the goal of keeping the amount of global warming in this century to no more than 2˚C. But results from a Canadian government climate modeling study published last month suggest that “it is unlikely that warming can be limited to the 2˚C target,” the scientists who wrote the study say.

The paper finds that reaching that goal would require that greenhouse emissions “ramp down to zero immediately” and that scientists deploy means, starting in 2050, to actively remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. Previous modeling efforts have already highlighted the difficulty of reaching the 2˚C goal. But the new study is unique in several ways. Most important, it relies on the first published results from the latest generation of so-called Earth System climate models, complex programs that run on supercomputers and seek to simulate the planet’s oceans, land, ice, and atmosphere. The model in this study, Canadian Earth System Model 2, also incorporates updated data on volcanic eruptions, and it simulates in a more sophisticated way the biosphere’s ability to take in or emit carbon.

In the study, scientists with Environment Canada, a government agency, fed their model various scenarios of future greenhouse gas concentrations out to the year 2100. In the scenario with the most carbon emissions, the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere skyrocketed from its current level, about 390 parts per million, to 920 ppm, and global land surface temperature rose by 4.9˚C above 2005 levels. But even in a scenario in which emissions cuts caused CO2 levels to peak at 450 ppm in 2050, temperatures rose by 2.3˚C by the end of the century, above the 2˚C goal.

In one figure in the paper, the highest-emissions pathway was depicted with an orange line, with the lowest-emissions line in blue. “In terms of emissions, right now we’re more likely on the orange line than on the blue, “ said co-author Ken Denman, an oceanographer at the University of Victoria in Canada who is affiliated with Environment Canada. Much higher temperatures may await humanity if emissions aren’t reduced quickly, and the difficulty of reaching the 2˚C goal may be irrelevant, he says.

Climate modeler Myles Allen of the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom says that the paper’s findings suggest a way to buy time while we reduce CO2 emissions: cut emissions of short-lived gases that warm the atmosphere aggressively but persist in the atmosphere for decades instead of centuries, like CO2. “I wouldn’t see this as hopeless,” he says. “Methane, for example, is relatively short-lived. We have time to invent the technologies required ... to deal with it, in contrast to CO2.”

As for the paper’s conclusion that removing atmospheric carbon is necessary in order to achieve the 2˚C target, climate scientist Richard Moss of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's Joint Global Change Research Institute in College Park, Maryland, says that’s a nearly impossible goal “with what we know about today.” But later in the century, carbon-removing techniques, such as burning biofuels while capturing their carbon emissions or developing carbon-sucking machines, may be feasible.

“We can’t give up” on emissions cuts, says Denman, although it’s “probably already too late” to limit warming to 2˚C. “But maybe we’ll have to live with 3 or 4 degrees of warming.”

The paper finds that the Total Solar Irradiance (TSI) has increased since the end of the Little Ice Age (around 1850) by up to 6 times more than assumed by the IPCC. Thus, much of the global warming observed since 1850 may instead be attributable to the Sun (called "solar forcing"), rather than man-made CO2 as assumed by the IPCC.

Evidence for this understanding is that the terrestrial climate correlates positively with the solar activity. Aims. We present a reconstruction of the total and spectral solar irradiance covering 130 nm–10 μm from 1610 to the present with an annual resolution and for the Holocene with a 22-year resolution. Methods. We assume that the minimum state of the quiet Sun in time corresponds to the observed quietest area on the present Sun. Then we use available long-term proxies of the solar activity, which are 10Be isotope concentrations in ice cores and 22-year smoothed neutron monitor data, to interpolate between the present quiet Sun and the minimum state of the quiet Sun. This determines the long-term trend in the solar variability, which is then superposed with the 11-year activity cycle calculated from the sunspot number. The time-dependent solar spectral irradiance from about 7000 BC to the present is then derived using a state-of-the-art radiation code. Results. We derive a total and spectral solar irradiance that was substantially lower during the Maunder minimum than the one observed today. The difference is remarkably larger than other estimations published in the recent literature. The magnitude of the solar UV variability, which indirectly affects the climate, is also found to exceed previous estimates. We discuss in detail the assumptions that lead us to this conclusion.

Do you know a real cloud when you see it?
Since the turn of the millenium, millions of people worldwide
have noticed strange clouds created by jet aircraft that “do not
look or act like normal clouds.” By 2007, Google Search
appeared to provide over a million Web pages written by
people watching jet “chemical trails” (still scientifically referred
to as condensation trails).
Actually, the phenomenon of jet contrails spawning clouds is
not new; it’s just getting much more noticeable as we continue
to increase air traffic with larger, faster, higher-flying aircraft.
A large majority of Americans are apparently still unaware that
artificial clouds exist, but in many areas, including California,
jet clouds are more common than natural ones. If you don’t
believe that, you’re not alone. That’s what this report is about:
maybe we haven’t been paying enough attention.
Most people who are aware of “chemtrails” already know that
artificially-created clouds comprise much of the visible cloud
cover we see regularly. Some days jet trails are invisible; some
days, they fill the sky almost completely.

This report illustrates:
1. How jet contrails can persist for days and form clouds that
affect local and global weather;
2. How jet aircraft and their supporting machines introduce
more toxic waste into the air than any other industry;
3. How jet aircraft in the stratosphere affect global weather and
temperatures, and must be considered in any climate modeling
study; and
4. Why the United States, as the largest consumer of
petroleum fuel products, has an obligation to provide more
leadership and resources toward cleaner fuel, non-combustive
energy and environmental cleanup.

This is not a complete report, just an overview of my findings,
which I’m presenting as simply and accurately as possible. I
took all the photos (except where noted). I only call them
“artificial clouds” if I personally watched them as they were
formed by jets...like these. All photos are unretouched.

Iran has experienced several droughts in recent years.
Ahmadinejad also recalled, according to IRNA, an article by "a Western politician", whom he did not identify, in which "droughts in some regions spanning from Turkey and Iran to east of Asia are predicted for the next 30 years."
"The regions (referred to in) the article... include countries whose culture and civilisation frighten the West," Ahmadinejad said in support of his argument.
Iranian leaders claim on a daily basis that Western countries, led by arch-foe United States, devise "plots" to undermine the Islamic republic and to impede its economic and scientific development.
They also accuse world powers of colluding against Iran's national unity, independence, political establishment, culture as well as international relations.
