Idd, maar bij het tandenpoetsen ga je ook altijd fluor inslikken. Gezien veel mensen hun mond slecht spoelen en dit niet perfect kan krijg je toch nog fluor binnen.
En tanden worden ook vanbinnen versterkt met fluor wat niet met tandpasta kan net zoals botten fluor nodig hebben.

Gewoon poetsen verwijdert etensresten die door de bacteriën vergist worden tot zuren, dewelke het glazuur aantasten. Fluor verandert het tandglazuur door nucleofiele substitutie van hydroxyapatiet naar fluorapatiet, wat harder is en beter tegen aantasting van zuren kan. Daarbij komt nog dat fluor toxisch is voor de bacteriën, waardoor hun groei geremd wordt.
Fluor is ook toxisch voor de mens; maar ik snap niet goed waar jullie de samenzwering zoeken: NIEMAND, geen enkele officiële instantie, ontkent dat fluor schadelijk is in al relatief lage concentraties. Daarom ook dat je best geen tandpasta opeet, daarom ook dat het toevoegen van fluor aan drinkwater op vele plaatsen al lang gestopt is (en hier nooit gebeurd is!).

Dat het veel helpt is ook zo'n mythe. Flouride is het meest effectief op de meer vlakke delen van de tand, waar het minste gaatjes optreden en die veel minder onder stress staan van het kauwen zoals de meer ruwe delen.
