Franklin County Courthouse, Columbus, Ohio

The first spaces for the court was in rented rooms, and the first county building was a log jail ordered built in 1804

The first courthouse was built 1807-08 in Franklinton

After the county government moved to Columbus in 1824, the court moved to the U.S. District Court Building on the northwest corner of Capitol Square. In 1828 or 1829, after the space was found inadequate, a long single-story office building was built to the rear of the court building; these buildings held the county court until 1840.

The first permanent courthouse was then built, and completed in 1840. The two-story brick and stone building cost $41,000. An annex was built to its south in 1853. A jail was added to the complex in 1865, along with other expansions around the same time.

A fire destroyed many records in this courthouse in 1879, prompting discussion of a new courthouse building.

The building's cornerstone was laid on July 4, 1885, accompanying a parade and celebration.[7] The building was dedicated on July 13, 1887

It had 407 luxuriously furnished rooms, 140 baths, and featured an immense and opulent lobby which was claimed to be the largest in the nation.

In 1906 a large fire burned through the hotel killing 10 people.

Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow :

Initially, it held performances in a private home, but it acquired the Petrovka Theatre and on 30 December 1780, it began producing plays and operas, thus establishing what would become the Bolshoi Theatre. Fire destroyed the Petrovka Theatre on 8 October 1805, and the New Arbat Imperial Theatre replaced it on 13 April 1808 (na 3 jaar uiteraard!), however it also succumbed to fire during the French invasion of Moscow in 1812.

The first instance of the theatre was built between 1821 and 1824, ( 3 jaar, no sweat!) designed and supervised to completion by architect Joseph Bové based upon an initial competition-winning design created by Petersburg-based Russian architect Andrei Mikhailov.

In 1843 a large-scale reconstruction of the theatre took place using a design by A. Nikitin, but a fire in 1853 caused extensive damageand so a further reconstruction was carried out

What a magnificent sight this must have been at the intersection of Colorado Blvd and Marengo Ave in Pasadena. It was the Pasadena Presbyterian Church, which was constructed in 1888, back when Pasadena streets were still dirt roads. Unfortunately that soaring tower was blown down in a tremendous windstorm in 1898

In 1911 the whole building was demolished

Built in 1894, the Sutro Baths was located north of Ocean Beach, the Cliff House, Seal Rocks, and west of Sutro Heights Park.

It is one of the oldest buildings in Stockholm, parts of it dating to the late-13th century, when it was built as a greyfriars monastery. After the Protestant Reformation, the monastery was closed and the building became a Lutheran church. A spire designed by Flemish architect Willem Boy (1520–1592) was added during the reign of John III, but it was destroyed by a lightning strike on 28 July 1835, after which it was replaced with the present cast-iron spire.

In 1888 liet Juana Ross de Edwards een woning bouwen voor haar broer Agust?*n Ross. Het gebouw werd uiteindelijk in 1890 ingewijd en werd door de diplomaat bewoond tot 1914, toen hij naar de naburige stad Viña del Mar verhuisde. Na zijn dood werd het gebouw aangekocht door de Bank of A. Edwards en werd er de Duitse Club van Valpara?*so in ondergebracht.
