Schandalig? Uiteindelijk heeft de CIA er in belangrijke mate toe bijgedragen dat de Vrije Wereld het gehaald heeft van de perfiditeit van het communistische totalitarisme.

Zo vermoed ik dat een van de prioriteiten, zoniet dé prioriteit, van de CIA vandaag de strijd tegen de perfiditeit van het islamitische totalitarisme is.

Ik hoop dat wij binnen 50 jaar zullen kunnen zeggen dat de CIA soms schandalige dingen gedaan hebben, maar dat we (of onze kinderen en kleinkinderen) toch niet tenonder gegaan zijn aan die islamitische ideologie. Zullen wij ook op onze Belgische inlichtingendiensten kunnen rekenen voor de ultieme verdediging van de democratie?

Als de CIA zich in de jaren 70 wat minder had bezig gehouden met extremisten te kweken voor hun doel, zou jij nu niet zo'n moslim basher geweest zijn en had je iets anders moeten zoeken om te haten.

Als de CIA zich in de jaren 70 wat minder had bezig gehouden met extremisten te kweken voor hun doel, zou jij nu niet zo'n moslim basher geweest zijn en had je iets anders moeten zoeken om te haten.

De CIA heeft zeker van de extremisten gebruik gemaakt om de communisten te bestrijden. Achteraf bekeken is dat natuurlijk fout, want zoals dat nu eenmaal met volgelingen van totalitaire ideologieën het geval is: ze zijn als honden, die in de hand bijten die hun gevoed heeft.

Niet alleen de CIA heeft die fout gemaakt, maar elke geheime dienst, zowel in de Vrije Wereld als in de communistische. Zelfs die van Churchill, ook al wist die perfect welk vlees hij met de mohammedanen in de kuip had.
