March 16 10.00a, Chinese nationals assemble in USERA.

Tens and more of plains clothes police officer dashed into a "Red Apple"
internet cafe without identifying themselves with identification cards,
instead shouting at everyone to standstill in front of the wall. Because of
previous incidents of missing money in previous Police checks, Internet cafe
owner wife's Chen Mei Yu, loudly reminded their customers to take caution of
their wallets. Without finishing her words, a large sized Police officer
seized her neck and pushed her up the wall, another Police officer used
another hand to pushed her head down and another officier twisted her hand
and handcuffed her.

When the boss Fu Xiao Lei heard of the news, he rushed to the scene and was
told by the officer "you can call the police, see if you dare". (indicating
that previously the boss contacted the police before).

Nearby Chinese heard the news, rushed to the scene. Some people called the
police to try to verify the authenticity of these police officers. Once the
police arrived, they did not intervene but stood aside to watch. A Chinese,
feeling injustice, step forward and asked the police why must they beat and
arrest innocent person? With no regards, the policeman said, "This is the
Spanish Police, if you don't like it, Go Back To China!!!

After the arrest of Chen Mei Yu, a dozen of Chinese came to USERA police
department, prefer to waiting for lawyer to deal with them, so as to avoid
another assault by the Police officers. A Chinese named Luo Hai Bing saw one
Police officer wielding a baton wanted to strike someone, step up and asked
him not to hit, but instead got hit on the head and fell unconsciousness on
the scene. Seeing someone was beaten unconscious, the Police did not
immediately request an ambulance, instead were thrown on the ground,
unconscious. Another chinese had reported to see the injured person lying on
the cold ground, took his clothes off and covered him. On seeing this, the
policeman started to lift up the clothe and started rummaging through it.
Inside there were some cash and a report certificate issued by the police.
The policeman counted the money and place it back into the clothes' pocket.
But the policeman kept the report, without asking about the injured and
left.


Waiting outside the Police station, a dozen of Chinese were called in to be
inspected for identification, and were asked to go back outside of the
station, nobody in the Police station pay attention to them. We asked the
police why do they arrest them, where are they now? They were told that they
had been sent to the Court beside CASTILLA Plaza, you can find them there,
as for other stuffs, no comments. Helpless, we had to called the ambulance
to send the injured to the hospital, after which we left.

The arrested Chen Mei Yu were not sent to the Court beside CASTILLA Plaze,
as claimed by the officer at the station, instead she was detained at the
basement of the Police Station, because she said she could hear the Chinese
representatives speaking to the officers on that day.

The police originally claimed to be assualted by Chen Mei Yu, but later say
she didn't. She was locked up for a night, on the second day the police
suspected her of carrying drugs, after asking her to fill a long list, she
was released.

In a interview with reporters, on the day of her arrests, the duty police
officer was rude and slow when writing a report, did not even find a Chinese
translator for her, and searched her and found some Chinese medicine.
Without asking what it was, the police charged her for carrying drugs. When
she gave an explaination, she received a laughter from the Police.
