Dus als u iemand ziet stelen of verkrachten dan mag u ook niet tussenkomen, want u moeit zich met andermans leven. U vanalles inbeelden om voor uzelf te kunnen rechtvaardigen dat u redenen hebt om u hier niet mee te moeien is lafheid en verzuim hulp te verlenen of te verschaffen aan iemand die in gevaar verkeert. Hier bestaat een strafwet voor.

Onzinnige vergelijking abortus is iets wat je zelf beslist, een overval/verkrachting overkomt je, daar kies je zelf niet voor.

Abortus is geen sport, word als heel ernstig aanzien en jij moet niet uit jouw fantasie van geesten en spoken denken dat je anderen kan opleggen wat ze al dan niet mogen doen.

By now, it is clear that the Maine caucuses were a complete mess.



Evidence is mounting that Mitt Romney's 194-vote victory over Ron Paul was prematurely announced, if not totally wrong. Washington County canceled their caucus on Saturday on account of three inches of snow (hardly a blizzard by Maine standards), and other towns that scheduled their caucuses for this week have been left out of the vote count. Now, it looks like caucuses that did take place before Feb. 11 have also been left out of final tally.

As the full extent of the chaos unfolds, sources close to the Paul campaign tell Business Insider that it is looking increasingly like Romney's team might have a hand in denying Paul votes, noting that Romney has some admirably ruthless operatives on his side and a powerful incentive to avoid a fifth caucus loss this month.

According to the Paul campaign, the Maine Republican Party is severely under-reporting Paul's results — and Romney isn't getting the same treatment. For example, nearly all the towns in Waldo County — a Ron Paul stronghold – held their caucuses on Feb. 4, but the state GOP reported no results for those towns. In Waterville, a college town in Central Maine, results were reported but not included in the party vote count. Paul beat Romney 21-5 there, according to the Kennebec County GOP.

"It's too common," senior advisor Doug Wead told Business Insider. "If it was chaos, we would expect strong Romney counties to be unreported, and that's not what's happening."

The Maine Republican Party won't decide which votes it will count until the executive committee meets next month. But Wead points out that even if Mitt Romney holds on to his slim lead, it will be a Pyrrhic victory.

"He will have disenfranchised all of these people," Wead said. "It could be a costly victory — it is a mistake."

The (alleged) bias against Paul may also be the product of an organic opposition to the libertarian Congressman and his army of ardent fans. Paul volunteers tend to be young and relatively new to party politics, and their presence has many state GOP stalwarts feeling territorial.

"People feel threatened — they don't want to see a bunch of kids who may have voted for Barack Obama take over," Wead said. "They feel a sense of ownership over the party — but there has to be an accommodation."

But state party machinations are already starting to backfire. The Paul campaign believes it has won the majority of Maine's delegates — and the perceived election fraud has galvanized Paul supporters to demand their votes be counted in the state's straw poll 'beauty contest.'

Caucus chaos has also proved to be fertile ground for Paul's quiet takeover of the Republican Party. Since 2008, the campaign and Paul's Campaign for Liberty PAC have made a concerted effort to get Paul sympathists involved in the political process. Now, tumult in state party organizations has allowed these supporters to rise up the ranks.

More than 1.8 million dead Americans remain listed as active voters, according to a study released Tuesday which described the US voter registration system as “plagued with errors and inefficiencies.”

The research conducted by the non-partisan Pew Centre on the States also revealed that one in every eight voter records contains inaccuracies, and at least 51 million eligible voters are not registered to take part in elections.

The study comes as the United States prepares for presidential and congressional elections in November.

“Voter registration is the gateway to participating in our democracy, but these antiquated, paper-based systems are plagued with errors and inefficiencies,” said David Becker, director of Election Initiatives at Pew.

“These problems waste taxpayer dollars, undermine voter confidence and fuel partisan disputes over the integrity of our elections.”

Of the approximately 24 million incorrect voter registrations across the country, or 13 percent of the national total, more than 1.8 million of those are for people who are deceased, the study found.

Another 2.75 million people are registered in more than one state. About 12 million records contain incorrect addresses, meaning either the voters have moved or the Postal Service would have trouble finding them, it said.

Ron Paul-Mitt Romney alliance? Candidates teamed up to skip Georgia debate

What to make of the relationship between Ron Paul and Mitt Romney?

The two teamed up Wednesday night to blast former senator Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) at the GOP presidential debate in Mesa, Ariz.

And now, Paul’s national campaign chairman, Jesse Benton, confirms that the decision last week by the two campaigns to skip a March 1 CNN debate in Georgia was a closely-coordinated one.

Benton, asked on MSNBC Thursday afternoon to detail the specifics on how the two candidates have cooperated during the campaign:

”A lot of it just comes down to scheduling. Both of our campaigns, for example, had places, specific places we wanted our candidates to be on March 1st, and they weren’t in Georgia. Other states that were priorities for us. And so we talked it out and we said, ‘Hey, let’s present a united front and make sure our candidates can get where they need to be rather than being at the 22nd or 23rd debate in Georgia.’ That’s how we cooperate.”

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, citing Georgia Republican Party Chairwoman Sue Everhart, reported last week that “both Romney and Paul formally turned down their invitations within minutes of each other.”

Santorum’s camp announced later the same day that it was planning on skipping the debate.

The Post’s Amy Gardner and The New York Times’ Rich Oppel have taken separate looks at the nature of the Romney-Paul relationship – an alliance that’s worth reconsidering now that Santorum’s camp is accusing the two of tag-teaming the former senator from Pennsylvania just as he’s ascending in the polls.

As Gardner reported earlier this month:

The two campaigns have coordinated on minor things, (a Paul) adviser said — even small details, such as staggering the timing of each candidate’s appearance on television the night of the New Hampshire primary for maximum effect.

Paul, Romney, and their spouses became friends during the last presidential campaign.

Paul realizes that his chances of winning the nomination are slim, and that Romney's changes are pretty good. If they can remain on good terms, then Paul will have a better chance at securing a prime speaking spot at the Republican Convention, and of influencing the Party's platform to some degree (i.e. a full audit of the Federal Reserve).

8:31 p.m. | Updated ST. PETERS, Mo. – Voters here in St. Charles County did not get a say on Saturday in who will be the next Republican presidential nominee after a disorderly caucus caused organizers to adjourn before delegates were selected.

Members of crowd began shouting, “We make the rules!” among other chants as organizers tried to regain control, which they did briefly. But the shouting quickly escalated when it came time to appoint a chair of the caucus.

The police were called in, and two people were arrested on trespassing charges after being asked to leave when the meeting was then called to an early close.

“The police officers were worried about people’s safety and asked us to shut it down,” the event coordinator for the caucus, Bryan Spencer, said.

But some supporters of Ron Paul and Mitt Romney, who said they previously worked out a deal to nominate someone to chair the caucus, claimed that organizers broke procedural rules and that Mr. Dokes was “railroading the caucus” by closing nominations for the chair too quickly.

St. Charles was supposed to select the most delegates of any single caucus in the state, and turnout was much higher than expected.

Turnout was low when Rick Santorum took this county (and the state) in a traditional primary election on Feb. 7. It was one of three states he won that day, giving his campaign a significant lift. But because of the unusual party and state circumstances, the vote awarded no delegates, many of whom would be chosen at caucuses on Saturday.

Strong support and organization for Ron Paul could have been seen as early as 6 a.m. in St. Charles, when supporters first started lining up outside the school. At one point, the line of people waiting to get in ran past the rows of trophy cases and out into the parking lot. It got so long that caucus officials had to corral voters into a small wrestling room while they waited to be checked in.

More than 900 people finally filtered into the gymnasium bleachers before the meeting finally began. Every seat was taken.

Volunteers for Mr. Paul’s campaign were passing out fliers as people entered, instructing them to follow the lead of two “Ron Paul Floor Captains,” who sat near the podium and planned to raise a bright yellow folder with hot pink stripes every time they wanted people to vote in a block.

“This has always been the meat and potatoes,” said Mike Carter, 40, a supporter of Mr. Paul, about the campaign’s focus on electing their delegates at the caucus.

Their general plan: “Go in and run the meeting,” Jesse Calison, 30, a Ron Paul supporter, said before the caucus began. “Beat them with the rules.”

After the caucus was dismissed early, a number of voters backing other candidates expressed their frustration about being forced to leave before voting. “We came here to do business,” said Margy Harris, 68, a supporter of Mr. Santorum, “not this foolishness.”

Missouri news-leader - Ron Paul leading in local GOP caucus battle

Supporters of Texas Congressman Ron Paul came out on top Saturday after a long and contentious Greene County Republican caucus meeting.

More than 1,000 people showed up at the county caucus, which is the first step of a multi-step process to elect delegates to the Republican National Convention and pick a presidential nominee. Saturday’s caucuses were marked by a series of contentious debates over procedure as attendees attempted to pick their delegates.

The participants opted to send a coalition consisting of 111 delegates backing Paul and Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney to both the 7th Congressional District convention on April 21 and the state Republican convention on June 2.

The delegate slate was approved after more than seven hours of political wrangling between the Romney-Paul group and people backing former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. The Santorum and Gingrich camps formed a second delegate ticket that was narrowly voted down.

Those delegates are not bound to support those candidates at the district convention, meaning they could change their minds and vote for another person.

This is the first time since 1996 that Missouri Republicans have used the caucuses to pick delegates and express a presidential preference.
